way healthier democracy than two corporate son of a bitches.
Only as soon as they would be created, they would be flooded with corporate money.
Power and money go hand in hand. Can't have one without the other.

we could, but it would require a dramatic restructuring in the way fundraising and spending is done
think about revenue sharing in pro sports

I’ve said this elsewhere. The easiest way to get the two parties to act in the public interest is to limit campaign activities, including fundraising to three months in each election cycle.
You have to be a candidate to raise money and you can only file for candidacy on the first Tuesday in August. Primary on the second Tuesday in September, then on to general.
Increase to six months for President.
Having said that there may be loopholes that First Amendment would seemingly protect but I don’t think it’s something legislation can’t fix (Citizens United)

The staff will of course be people who can afford to work for nothing and have experience. I keep seeing these progressive disaffection memes, yet as a progressive I understand that first you have to win. You also have to prepare for any little concession to the people in need being branded as rampant socialism. Everything progressive will be a fight with the rw Wurlitzer.

Take it easy, you will get free stuff too.
We can put one of these in the mail for you tomorrow. Don't worry about the cost, there are more than 77 million people out there who will probably chip in on that.
I just want to fit in. You know, if you can’t beat em join em.

I am thinking about retiring from the whole “take care of myself” burden. When can I expect the flood of freebies to overtake me?
I want to time it properly.

Excellent news comrade!
I checked and we can get you into a re-education class that starts next Monday. Report to the new Re-Education Center (the old Toys R Us Store) near 8 Mile and Van Dyke in Detroit. They will make you feel right at home and you will be on your way to productive citizenship again real soon.
