Amazing.

No, but it looks incredible!

The first episode is good. Loaded with history which is my kinda show.

Issue with the heart of the premise, at least from what the narrator says, is that white Europeans were the only ones to subjugate another people to a lower level of human and enslave and/or exterminate them which is not true.

Humans with power throughout history, albeit on a smaller scale in terms of populations, have been brutal to each other.

Yeah, i am assuming that the series will delve deeper into other areas of this. History is full of them.

However, europeans definitely perfected the art.

On another note, the Dan Carlin podcast (hardcore history i think?) Does a 5 or 6 part series on Genghis Khan. Fucking fantastic. Its like 18 or 20 hours of podcast though.

There was a lot of mass murder in Asia before the Europeans even were a thing.

but yes, that doesn’t take slavery into account, which the pharaohs were quite adept at

maybe as many as 9 million died during the crusades

around 9 million during nazi reign (Jews + Poles)

an estimated 2 million slaves died just on the voyages from Africa to N. America

So if its HALF that historical estimate than its still more than double the highest number you provided. Youre right, no way of knowing but he wiped out entire cities and populations as he conquered

it could be as many as 60 million. i wasn’t trying to downplay the number, just pointing out how unreliable it is

and, if you’re citing that, then you’d have to put WWII atop all numbers, with 60-120 million

This series is specifically based around a book based on another book.
Exterminate the Brutes > Heart of Darkness.
So I don't think it will explore anything more beyond white colonialism, which still has so much info/history that can't fit into a four hour mini-series, but from the original episode, the narration that this behavior was unique to white Europeans is very misleading.

All said, it is their documentary so they can present it however they want.
