Anyone ever harvested and eaten your own?

I’ve got what I’m pretty certain are some Shaggy Manes growing in my yard

Dare me to eat them?

I like mushrooms, but I wouldn't be eating any from my yard.

Oussie's gone missing. Hopefully, not permanently.

"The mushroom can sometimes be confused with the magpie fungus which is poisonous. In America, the 'vomiter' mushroom Chlorophyllum molybdites is responsible for most cases of mushroom poisoning due to its similarity with shaggy mane and other edible mushrooms. Coprinopsis atramentaria (the common Ink Cap) is similar, and contains coprine and can induce coprine poisoning, particularly when consumed with alcohol.'

What's the worst that could happen?

You could lose your crappy job and your crappy apartment.

Get these...delicious. I wrap them in aluminum foil and sit on the top rack of the grille for 15 minutes or so. https://www.aldi.us/en/products/fresh-p ... mushrooms/

Going to Aldi is a lot like foraging.

There are a few things best left to the well trained. I would never mess with gas lines in my house or eat mushrooms from my yard because they “looked edible”.

Gas lines arent that difficult as long as the gas is turned off.

Morels are easy to identify. Beyond that dont eat the ones growing out if cow patties unless you want to go into an alternate reality or worse.

The issue isn’t what happens when you are working on gas lines but about what happens when you turn the gas back on after you are done working on them 😄
