Shingles

Anyone had them? I thought we had a thread on here but couldn't find it.

I got a red splotch on the side of my face that's itchy and a little sore. Hopefully, this ain't it.
I showed it to Mrs 99 and she said something like yuck, that doesn't look good. But she doesn't know what it is. If it keeps up, I may have to see a doc.

Decent chance I die from laying shingles at dozens of houses in the KS heat with my dad via asbestos exposure.

Got the vax, both shots. First was quite painful! As far as I know it’s not contagious. Very very painful disease.

There's two shots for the shingles vax?

Yes, about 3 months apart (I think). Mine was about 6 months apart because I got the Covid shots in the interim. The brand is called Shingrix.

if the first one don't work just keep jabbing boosters!

CnB....I too will probably suffer the same fate. Not from asbestos shingles maybe...but I have been exposed to a lot of asbestos in my days of demo and remodels

A lot would depend on age of original construction, but hopefully all fine. The old pipe insulation crap is way nastier than the 60's drywall/mud stuff.

I had some white plaster type stuff wrapped around one of my ducts in my basement, maybe 8 ft in length. I scraped it off years ago while wearing an N95 mask, still don't know if it was asbestos or not. oh well.

You must be furious about the tetanus vaccine.

I don't remember you ever posting about it though.

its been around for 130 years.

I also don't care if you have it. I have it...just like I have the covid vaccine.

You have to get boosters for it though.

Guess that means it doesn't work.

And, I don't care about people getting tetanus shots either, or at least not as much, because it's not an infectious disease. I'd care more if it was passed from person to person.
