I saw Jimmy eat world open (along with tenacious D) for Weezer. They have some good songs and were good live.

I think you said something similar about zz top...so...you may just have blind spot for a huge swath of music in the pop culture zeitgeist.

I almost put Jimmy Eat World 3rd. Tenacious D opening for Weezer sounds like a fun show.

I took my kid and a bunch of her friends to see Avril Lavigne for her birthday way back when. At Starlight, wasn't a bad show. I only knew one song.
