I can't help but think their entire goal was to pander to the people who root for the military like it's a sports team. Because if you put that group in a Venn diagram with the people who were pissed they changed the name in the first place, it would be a perfect circle.

And, as someone that strongly believes that Cleveland and Washington were well past due on their brand changes, I don't find the Chiefs nickname to be on that level. Just cut the cringe-y outdated traditions.
