Ooh, zing.
I have a hard time seeing Kansas City being better this year than last considering the current state of their roster. But this isn't the state it will be come Opening Day so we'll see what they can do in the draft. Hopefully they can make some more moves to pick up some players who can contribute immediately given that the AFC is as loaded as it has ever been in Reid's time in KC.

I mean, you're already giving up on being a contender.
That's kinda looser talk.
Are we, at this moment, a worse team?
Likely.
Does that mean we still can't win the division?
No.

Like I said, we'll see what the roster looks like after the draft.

You can only keep so many people for so long once guys get to a certain level. Loved watching him with KC. But those style of guys don't last forever. You get a handful of good years out of many elite RBs and WRs, but the there is definitely an art to avoiding being the team stuck with the big contract when the decline happens.

Been seeing a lot of negativity about this from Chiefs people who are usually pretty smart and level-headed. It's a good draft pick haul. He wanted to be the highest-paid WR in the league. He's 28 and very much the type of WR whose production will take a hit as he declines athletically. At the very least, he's not going to be worth $30M/year when he's 30. He may never be, just given how much WR value and durability fluctuates year to year.
Let good things come to an end sometimes and don't totally fuck yourself by loading up on contracts that are going to look like shit in 2 years. Where things stand now, KC has the cap flexibility to go grab a high level WR and DE on short-term contracts, AND draft a WR at #29 or #30, AND grab high level prospects at CB, DE, and DT with the other 3 picks in rounds 1 and 2. Hell, would love to see them trade down for once and turn #29 or #30 into multiple picks.
Plus, after all of this, Chiefs are still the favorite to win the division.

Part of what kept the patriots at the top of the game was a revolving door on players. They traded a lot of players at the top of their game to bring in new talent. Seemed to work out pretty well.
Plus, I don't really like Tyreek.

Agree about the patriots.
WR is one of the sexy positions, but many games are won or lost in the trenches. Hopefully we get some good players with the picks.

He’s a clown. If he played for anyone else, he’d be a villain. But, skills. SMH.
