welcome to the republican party in 2023, barreling towards the 2024 primary and general elections. And hold on to your hats, because it promises to be bumpy, not to mention, entertaining!
*internecine adjective relating to conflict within a group or organization.
"the party shrank from the trauma of more internecine strife"
My how things have changed since Clinton said this in 2003:
“In every presidential election, Democrats want to fall in love; Republicans just fall in line.”
Former President Bill Clinton
Donald Trump’s allies are stepping up their battle with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, formally accusing him of violating state ethics and election laws with his “shadow presidential campaign.”
Make America Great Again Inc. is filing a 15-page complaint Wednesday with the Florida Commission on Ethics, a draft of which was obtained exclusively by NBC News.
It asks the commission to probe whether pro-DeSantis super PACs, his "personally lucrative book tour" and a continued wave of state-level campaign contributions, among other things, "are unlawful because they serve his personal political objectives, are in furtherance of his personal financial gain at the expense of Florida taxpayers, and are intended to influence his official decision to resign from office."

A lot of Republicans are wishing they had the good sense to do similar in 2016.

Japhy, want to thank you for not leading us into some over-wokened liberal socialist reality-based coven out there in Colorado this July:
Republicans leave Colorado GOP after election denier becomes state party leader

The SLV votes blue and most of the local elections go that way. But the bigger congressional district includes the red counties out by the oil fields and that's why we have Lauren Boebert as out Rep. When you drive into town you will see a huge Boebert sign at the end of Worth Street at the Sinclair station. It's why we buy our gas at the Conoco now.
Your are free to be a loud proud rube if'n that is yer thing. I always stopped at the Sinclair cuz as a kid I was into dinosaurs. But if you let me know that my money pays for rubeism, I will take my business elsewhere.
You will like it out there Feral.

I just want to make it clear that our coven is not reality based.

Today in unWokeness:
'Pubs busy saving America while attacking other 'Pubs has got to stop!
From the comments:
-These citizens absolutely INSIST that their kids grow up just as ignorant and bigoted as they are! God help us.
-They created a fake boogie man and now they're running scared from it and trampling each other as they do. You can't make this shit up... Oh wait, they did
-"Keep them dumb, and under your thumb."

Florida school pulls anti-racism film Ruby Bridges after parent complaint
Disney’s anti-racism film Ruby Bridges is the subject of a complaint brought by a Florida parent who claims the movie is not appropriate for second-graders, because it might teach them that “white people hate Black people”.
The film, which tells the story of a six-year-old girl who integrated New Orleans schools in the 1960s, has been a staple of school curriculums during Black History Month in the state’s Tampa-area county of Pinellas.
The complaint over the film about Ruby Bridges, the first Black child to integrate into a white school, comes as parents across Florida have been granted greater powers over what their children are shown and taught in classrooms, including being given advance warning over “controversial” topics.
It was reported last week that the principal of a school in Tallahassee, Florida, had been pressured to resign after an image of Michelangelo’s David, which sits in the Galleria dell’Accademia in Florence, was shown to a sixth-grade art class.
Earlier this year, a controversy erupted over Toni Morrison’s novel The Bluest Eye, which includes a father-daughter rape scene, after a parent complained. Pinellas school officials withdrew the book and directed schools to “err on the side of caution” when selecting literature for students…
those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it

What a shit show the republican party is these days. Karma much?
In 2011 republicans chose to cause the first downgrade in our nation's credit rating in its history, because they weren't getting their way. And now, it looks like they might be consumed with so much fighting amongst themselves, who knows what they'll do that could damage our country again, next?
They're demanding Trillions of dollar$ be cut from federal spending, while putting forth nothing to explain how it could be accomplished. They are so utterly devoid of policies & ideas, it would be an exaggeration to call republicans "incompetent". Why? Because to do so would infer that they do have policy ideas, but lack the ability to promote them, except they don't.
And while I absolutely love seeing their decades-old cynicism being rewarded with the chaos of Trump and MAGA they so richly deserve, it would be reassuring to see them at least make a feint back toward the reservation, before they take us all down with them:
Chilly relationships between Speaker Kevin McCarthy and key Republicans, including Budget Chair Jodey Arrington, loom over debt ceiling and government funding fights.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had to fight tooth and nail to secure the gavel. Now, tensions between him and some of his top deputies are spilling out into the open.
The chilly relationships further complicate challenges facing the Republican majority ahead of key deadlines to avert a government shutdown and a global economic meltdown in the coming months. McCarthy faces the daunting task of unifying his wafer-thin majority behind legislation that will also need Democratic support.
Under normal circumstances, the House majority leader and the Republican Budget Committee chairman would be natural allies as McCarthy seeks to thread that needle. But, as The New York Times reported this week, those relationships are fraying and McCarthy has privately criticized Budget Chair Jodey Arrington, R-Texas, and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La. According to the Times, the comments came after Arrington quietly put out feelers during McCarthy's battle for the speaker's gavel to see if GOP lawmakers may instead back Scalise for the job...
The chilly dynamic was on display two weeks ago when the speaker dismissed Arrington’s plan to craft a debt limit offer, telling reporters: “I don’t know what he’s talking about.”
A second senior House GOP aide said they were “surprised” to see the tensions spilling out into the open. “But it’s no secret Scalise and McCarthy’s teams have always kinda been at odds,” the aide said.

South Florida was under siege and under water Thursday amid a storm that dumped 25 inches of rain over some coastal areas, flooding homes and highways and forcing the shutdown of a major airport.
The not so funny thing is that I'm dumb enough to believe a DeSantis (President) / Jr. (Vice President) ticket would be appealing to a crap load of ______________ (fill in the blank with whatever negative word you choose).

Former Vice President Mike Pence was booed loudly and lustily at the NRA Convention today, which is being held in his home state of Indiana, where he is the former Governor.
Mike Pence got booed at an @NRA event.
Who exactly does he think will vote for him for POTUS?
Our side hates him and MAGA literally tried to hang him.
What constituency is he banking on?

The best thing about Mike Pence getting booed by #MAGARepublicans at an NRA event no less, is maybe he’ll finally admit to himself his career in politics is over, so he might as well tell Jack Smith the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Who knew it was Old Home Day?
Turns out, exactly like former Vice President Pence returned home to Indiana, President Biden returned to where his mother was from in Ireland today:
