Gutter's 5 questions for 7/11 - aka Free Slurpee Thursday

Post by RainbowsandUnicorns »

1. 2 parter
a. Will you go to a 7/11 today and get yourself a free Slurpee?
b. Have you ever gone to 7/11 on 7/11 and gotten (probably not the right word) yourself a free Slurpee?

2. I am superstitious to a very small degree. When I played Hockey I liked to wear #7. Part of that was because I felt it was a "lucky" number for me.
When you were a young child all the way through high school, was there a specific number you wanted/chose when you played sports and if so, what was/is it?

3. If you were awake for today's sunrise and you saw it - OR the last time you saw a sunrise, rate it on a scale of 7 to 11. 7 being shit. 11 being phenomenal.

4. Two parter.
You're playing Blackjack. You have 16 (a 9 and a 7) and the Dealer has an Ace showing.
a. Do you hit or stand?
b. Do you take Insurance?

5. You can go to a 7/11 and can have between 7 and 11 of the following single things for free. Meaning, you can chose one item but between 7 and 11 of the single items. You can NOT sell them and you must consume/use them.

a. Packs of cigarettes or "chewing" tobacco.
b. Boxes of 3 condoms per box
c. Automobile air fresheners
d. 12 oz Boxes of Cherrios, Special K, or Frosted Flakes
e. Boxes of Kleenex (150 tissues per box)
f. $1 scratch off lottery tickets (but you can only win up to $25 total - and may not win anything)
g. Rolls of toilet paper ("average" size rolls)
h. 10oz bottles of Orange Juice
i. 12.5oz Cans of disinfecting spray
j. 5oz Bags of Gummy Bears/worms
k. Packs of 2 AA batteries
l. Toothbrushes

4. Im pretty sure you’re supposed to. With a 16 though and the dealer showing face I go on my gut at the moment ( and piss off the assholes at the table ). I don’t do insurance when I play Blackjack.

You and I have identical answers to #4. I'll go one further. There are times when my gut (I hope it's not my brain) will hold on a 12, 13, 14, 15. My GUT (I hope it's not my brain) tells me I would rather still be in the game and lose than out of the game and lose.

I’ll hit sometimes even if not recommended but usually play by the stats ( though I sometimes forget particular scenarios ).

But I wouldn’t hit on say 13 with the dealer showing 6 even if my gut told me to.

no idea where 11 came from…maybe Phil Simms (Giants fan when i was really young for some reason), but i only wore that number myself playing football. 11 was a guard’s number in basketball, and i always played in the front court

i’m only 6’2”, 215ish but in junior high and even high school that usually puts you in the front court
