Gutter's 5 Questions for National Lemon Meringue Pie Day 8/15/24

Post by RainbowsandUnicorns »

1. Who the heck decided to spell meringue the way it is spelled? That's not my question for #1 but it's a legitimate one. Anyways, you must eat a substantial sized slice/piece of one of the following pies. Which do you choose?
a. Lemon Meringue (NOT lemon cream)
b. Chocolate Cream
c. Coconut Cream
d. Banana Cream
e. Pecan
f. Pumpkin
g. Key Lime

2. I gave it about 10 seconds of thought this morning, I don't recall being bitten by a Mosquito this year. Forgetting about Mosquitos (or is it Mosquitoes?), when was the last time you were stung by a Bee?

3. You open up a small "brick and mortar" store that sells only used bicycles, records (albums - 33rpm and 45rpm), floor lamps, and calendars. You must pick one of the following people to fully manage the store. Who do you pick?
a. Lance Armstrong
b. Martha Stewart
c. Dr. Dre
d. Kamala Harris (assuming she loses the election)
e. Donald Trump (assuming he loses the election)
f. Fred Savage
g. Greg Norman
h. Bobby Flay
i. David Geffen

4. Exactly (or approximately as close to you think is exactly) how many monthly payments do you make?

5. You give the Wonderlic test to the following people. Who do you think scores the HIGHEST and who do you think scores the LOWEST? Realize, the Wonderlic is a test of "assessing cognitive ability and problem-solving aptitude".
a. jfish26
b. RainbowsandUnicorns
c. MICHHAWK
d. pdub
e. ousdahl
f. Sparko
g. KUTradition
h. Shirley
i. Overlander
j. TDub
k. twocoach
l. randylahey
m. DCHawk1

1) It was probably those wacky French doods. I don't eat a lot of sweets, but I do love me some bourbon pecan pie on T-Day.
2) Bees freak me out. I avoid at all costs. It's been a very long time. That said, I get skeeter bit every day here.
3) Ms. Stewart.
4) Guessing I'm wrong here 30
5) Nope

1. Mood based. At this moment, banana cream.
2. I would guesstimate 25 years ago.
3. David Geffen
4. Estimate 15
5. No fucking clue. I'll get back on this one.

1. f - pumpkin
2. Bee? From what I remember it was in college swinging on a swing at Holcom Park. But I was mowing a little over a month ago and got stung by a yellow jacket after mowing over its nest underground ( second year in a row i've had to deal with a yellowjacket nest ).
3. a Lance. He'll bring people in for sure.
4. 25?
5. I'd say h for Shirley if it was 20 years ago. For lowest I'll go with the guy who has had multiple timeouts here and never seems to learn.

1. Banana Cream
2. Wasp not bee but..Yesterday. Was on the roof, working under a dormer...was a nest under the dormer...couldn't get off the roof quickly so I smashed as many as I could and took my medicine. Only got stung twice, both on my swinging hand so not bad.

3. Dre

4. 12?

5. Man that's tough.

without much knowledge on the subject I'll go with

Trad....tho a good argument could be made for fish, Shirley, pdub, DC, Overlander...

Ousdahl would score lowest....based on how many simple situations he seems to require help with here, I'd guess his problem solving aptitude scores fairly low.

4 - maybe 10

5 - pass
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

1. Pecan

2. When I was approximately 10 years old. I have only been stung once my entire life. I was in between soccer games sitting under a tree eating an apple. It landed on my pinky and stung me. I cried. I will run from bees and wasps if necessary. I do not kill bees. I do kill wasps at my house if they get in my garage or try to build nests on my house.

3. Bobby Flay.

4. 7

5. LOL...I think the highest would be a toss up between the usual suspects. The lowest would also be a toss up of the usual suspects. I don't want to name names. I think I'd be safely somewhere in the average to below average range in regard to users of this website.

It's not worth getting your feelings hurt. What you think of yourself matters a lot more than what others think of you.

If it was a most annoying poster list I am sure I'd have made the list and gotten my fair share of votes.

Based on what the wonderlic tries to gauge, I'd like my chances to not finish last. Or 2nd to last.

I was just answering the question..

and I think I may be the only one that answered the question.

and it's not all that crazy to point out that you ask for answers to basic adult life scenarios many many times over your years on the boards. Most with their own threads like you're trying to win a "who can create the most threads" award or something.

you weren't just answering the question tho. You also threw in those little shots about "simple situations," and are now doubling down on "basic adult life scenarios."

I wouldn't say it hurts my feelings, nor would I say it has any bearing on what I think of myself.

It's more that I just think such pettiness is cringe.

1. Pumpkin
2. Earlier this year in my garden.
3. Mine will be a community store, managed by honesty and good hearts.
4. 12-15?
5. I’m adding myself to list. And I’m the smartest. By far. And if you don’t think so, it proves you are among the dumbest. By far.
