Gutter's 5 Questions for National Singles Day 9/21/24

1. I know many kind, intelligent, good sense of humor, beautiful, straight (like men) women, who have never been married. I know many unkind, dumb, bad sense of humor, ugly, straight (like men) women, who are or have been married.
I have never been married. As I have said too often, the first assumption is something must be wrong with him. BINGO! There are a lot of things wrong with me. Guess what? Something is wrong with EVERYONE!
All that being said, other than for insurance and tax purposes, name one advantage of being married.

2. Speaking of singles, here is a crazy fact. Not one single current baseball player is in the top 100 of/for career singles.
Name one of your favorite former MLB players.

3. You must choose TWO of the following activities to do in the next 36 hours - and pay to do it if it requires a payment. Which TWO do you choose?
a. Go to watch a movie in a theatre.
b. Go for a bike ride for at least 45 minutes.
c. Go water skiing for 2 hours.
d. Go to a zoo for 3 hours.
e. Go to a High School or College Football game within 30 miles of your home and watch the entire game.

1. You can have a legit wedding. If that's an advantage.
2. Mike Schmidt.
3. Being that I am still recovering, the options are limited for me. I will probably choose j and i.
4. c. Salami but corned beef is a close 2nd.

3. HS Football and read a book. (I would say zoo but I'm not making the 8+ hr round-trip drive to the nearest zoo.
4. I can't eat 3/4 lb of anything in 3p minutes. I'm not damn Kobayashi.

1. No need to be married for companionship.
2. Good choice.
3. Good choices. If there was a HS football game within walking distance of me I would attend.
4. Yes you can. Don't sell yourself short! If I can eat 3/4 of a pound of highly salted high cholesterol meat in 10 minutes, you could eat one of those choices in 30 minutes. Easy.
5. For NON wagering purposes, I would very much like you to be correct on all 5 of your selections.

2. George Brett (others include Paul Molitor, Rod Carew, Kirby Puckett)
3. Bike ride and zoo
4. Pasta salad. 3/4 pound seems a lot, though. Other than the egg salad I don’t eat any of the others
