Yes to both on top of what is likely some serious mental health struggles. I feel for the young man and I hope someone is able to reach out and help him. Maybe he still has someone in the Duke Brotherhood that can try to get him professional help and help him find a better path forward.

But I dunno if the help he needs is a house in Durham and cars and cash in hand.
