Brilliant plan to ultimately get the sex criminal to resign from Congress!!
Democrats would have forced the person out years ago when the allegations were made so there would be no need to vote for or against the release of a report.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 12:47 pm I’m most concerned with the paragraph stating ‘The Republicans on the house ethics committee decided not to make the results public’.
I am POSITIVE if this was a Democrat nominee and the same thing happened, with a Democratic nomination, the Democrats would vote the same to not release results. But that’s a problem with the system, IMO. You are allowing yourself to be nominated for a public position. Full disclosure of findings by those we voted into office should be the standard.
But, nah. Shit’s broken.
His Secretary of Education nominee:
Funny how people have normal, sex-crime-free lives right up until a Republican nominates them for a Cabinet or Supreme Court position and then, suddenly, the women and young girls and boys magically appear with tales of woe and exploitation that didn’t warrant a police report - sometimes for decades - until just this moment. "A recent lawsuit alleges Linda McMahon, who President-elect Donald Trump tapped to lead the Department of Education, knowingly enabled the sexual exploitation of children by a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) employee as early as the 1980s — allegations she denies.
...
The suit alleges McMahon, her husband, the WWE and TKO Group Holdings, the league’s parent company, knowingly allowed employee Melvin Phillips Jr. to use his position as ringside announcer to sexually exploit children.
The filing alleges Phillips would recruit children to work as “Ring Boys,” helping him set up and take down wrestling rings at WWE events. However, the job was a guise for sexually exploiting the children, which Phillips would do even in front of wrestlers and executives in the locker area, the lawsuit alleges. He also would often film his sexual abuse, according to the filing.
The suit was filed in October in Baltimore County, Maryland, on behalf of five John Does, who say they were ages 13 to 15 when Phillips met and recruited them to work as “Ring Boys.” Each of them say they suffered mental and emotional abuse as a result of the alleged abuse."

It literally says right in the article both "The suit was filed in October" AKA before she was chosen and "Phillips’ alleged abuse at the WWE was reported by the New York Post as early as 1992". It also describes the delay: "In 2023, the Maryland Child Victims Act, which repeals the statute of limitations in certain child sexual abuse civil lawsuits, became law."JKLivin wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 1:47 pmFunny how people have normal, sex-crime-free lives right up until a Republican nominates them for a Cabinet or Supreme Court position and then, suddenly, the women and young girls and boys magically appear with tales of woe and exploitation that didn’t warrant a police report - sometimes for decades - until just this moment.
