DEI policies defeated

A federal appeals court struck down Nasdaq (^IXIC) rules designed to encourage more diverse company boards, the latest defeat for DEI policies across corporate America.

The list of companies that have backed away or adjusted such policies now includes many of the biggest names in business. Walmart (WMT), for example, backed away from its DEI initiatives in November following public and shareholder pressure to do so.

Harley-Davidson (HOG), Jack Daniel’s maker Brown-Forman (BF-A), Polaris (PII), and its motorcycle subsidiary, Indian Motorcycle, are among the other recent pullbacks.

So I’m not a bigot, just acted like one?
I guess that’s better. Not a fan of name calling.

Stating that they'll do it and actually doing it are two different things. I'd bet that most of these claims result in nothing more than some documentation and wording changes to their public-facing portals but that no real changes behind the scene ever get made. MAGA has a short attention span and doesn't do any research so that'll be enough to get them off their backs.

Love to see logic reason and merit being restored. Like many liberal ideas, DEI policies had good intent. But then democrats began to exploit the DEI concept and play identity politics for political gain and that's how things got so absurd

When I get on a airplane or go to the hospital, I want the pilot or doctor to be the one best capable of the job. I don't give a shit about having the first gay trangender female minority person appointed

It was always about finding the right amount amount of requisites to keep certain groups from flying planes or getting into med school. Apartheid by application. A stupid step backwards.

Repealing policies in a performative gesture is like turning back the hands on a clock. You can pretend time has gone backwards, but the planet keeps turning forward.

Defeated? Keep dreaming rubes.

I agree that some applications of the umbrella DEI have gone overboard and so in cases where they have, seeing them go away I think is probably good.

In a company I previously worked for, it was a bit much at points.
And I personally think the whole NFL forced interviews and draft pick comp is also not the right way to do things.

Hopefully that is not directed at me for not agreeing with the effectiveness or application in some instances of DEI.
