I dunno if I have one - yet. That's why I asked.

As far as I can tell, she's pretty divisive. Folks seem to either love her or hate her.

Apparently, she espouses a particular brand of right-leaning philosophy? Or something.

Proponents think her work champions the merits of libertarianism. Critics think her philosophy and ideology is kinda self-serving, in a naive, oversimplified kinda way.

Or something?

I dunno.

That's why I asked.

Libertarianism in general, and Ayn Rand in particular, in a nutshell:

“For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple, and wrong.”

Neil Peart loved her.

When he was a kid.

Then he grew up.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

Funny enough, if we had to put Lord of the Rings characters to posters on this bored, you'd be an instant fit for Saruman.

"Hey, I don't really care for how Sauron acts either, but we kinda have no choice here."

I have no idea what that means. I don’t waste my time reading about nerdy fantasy worlds. But, if that’s your thing, then good on you. I always find it interesting that Rand’s ideas are so threatening to some people.

And you do have a choice. You can ban me. Problem is, I’m not breaking any rules, so doing so would say a lot more about you than me, which I think you realize deep down.

I don’t care for people who name call and hurl insults for no good reason, either, but I don’t give in to bullying or attempts at intimidation.

Essentially you called just called me a nerd.
And Rand's ideas would have people working for $1.25 while Elon would be hailed as some sort of savior.

Not at all.
I've compared this site to a bar.
If an owner of the bar, who also works long shifts, has a guy coming spewing off about stolen elections, calling powerful and intelligent women names, saying soccer is for sissies, forecasting violence if his candidate looses again etc etc etc AND THEN says to the owner one day, "if you kick me out, doing so will say a lot more about you than me", well, hopefully that owner gets a chuckle as he throws you out the door.
