“The charges against Trump are obscure, and nearly entirely unprecedented. In fact, no state prosecutor — in New York, or Wyoming, or anywhere — has ever charged federal election laws as a direct or predicate state crime, against anyone, for anything. None. Ever. Even putting aside the specifics of election law, the Manhattan DA itself almost never brings any case in which falsification of business records is the only charge,” Honig wrote.

“This is the very first time prosecutors have ever charged X” does not necessarily mean what one might suggest!

Could it be no one is as corrupt to have actually done that before? It is like denying the climate is changing because you live in an air conditioned building in Northern Canada.

Yeah, there seems to be a lot of people who can’t differentiate between a situation never existing before and it actually happening AND be against the law.

Like a snowball proving climate change doesn’t exist.

We may well be alive when the floodwaters come to Miami, and I wonder if people will spend weeks, or months or years, in open denial that the water is pretty much there to stay.
On the basis, ya know, of it just being so
unprecedented.
