Meh. That's where you lose me. I don't believe Tucker thinks segregation is the best thing this country ever did. That's ridiculous.

Some of tuckers viewers on the other hand....

I agree. I don't think he feels segregation is the best thing this country ever did.
Those first 5 seconds of where he was about to stumble mean nothing to me.
What does mean something to me is how assholes such as him and MTG are busy comparing a health crisis, how we deal with it, and what is BEST for people to be and stay healthy, to the Holocaust and not just segregation but discrimination against people based on their religion and color of their skin.
I don't think Tucker Carlson is a moron but I do feel he says moronic things WAY too often. That's fine but when his moronic things are eaten up by what I feel are easily brainwashed dangerous people, it become ALL of our problem/s.

What does Fox News have to gain by suggesting unvaccinated people are such oppressed victims?

I think the correct answer is to try and convince their cult viewers that Democratic "rule"/"rules" is/are bad (mmkay) and people need to "fight back" against it or they are "sheep" and being "oppressed".

I don't disagree....but what i find slightly irritating is the targeted complaining about non vaccinated Republicans, meanwhile the crunchy PNW liberal hippie type moms who don't vaccinate themselves or their children (for anything) have never been an issue for some of you/the media.

If it's a vaccination issue then that's fine. But it can't only be an issue for non vaccinated white Republicans and nobody else (imo).

I think everyone who wants to be vaccinated (for anything) should be. And for people who choose not to be that is their choice, but they may not be allowed to do certain things (which i think is fine if the restrictions are reasonably determined and backed by actual science).

I can’t look it up right now, but I’d be curious to see a demographic breakdown of anti-vaxxers, particularly contemporary ones in the context of covid, and of party affiliation

The popular depiction of antivaxxers as “earth-crunchy” doesn’t tell the whole story. Anti-vaccine sentiment is strongly associated with conspiracy thinking and protection of individual freedoms, traits that are finding a home among far-right groups

Yeah, in modern times, if the “earth crunchy” types were anti-vaxxers, then I’d be the one spewing conspiracy theories instead of lobster

Republican Men Are Vaccine-Hesitant, But There's Little Focus on Them

... As federal and state government entities ramp up vaccination efforts, polls show increased confidence in vaccines, especially among people of color, who have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 and were, at least initially, more skeptical of the vaccines. Vaccine hesitancy persists across all demographics, however.

About 13% of American adults don’t want a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. Republicans are the most resistant; nearly 3 in 10 say they don’t want one. The share is greater among rural, Republican men, 35% of whom don’t want to get a vaccine.

...

Like Finchem, the Arizona lawmaker, many Republican men interviewed by Stateline said they were concerned about side effects, or said they distrusted federal health agencies and the government. Finchem, like most Republicans, doesn’t believe that President Joe Biden’s victory in the November election was legitimate, for example. Some of the GOP men said vaccine manufacturers were just interested in making money.

And many of them are in positions of leadership and influence.

For North Dakota Republican state Rep. Rick Becker, hesitancy isn’t the reason for his hang-ups about vaccines, he said. Becker, a plastic surgeon, said he doesn’t plan to be vaccinated because he knows he is healthy and that there is only a small chance that the coronavirus would kill him. Becker, 56, says he does not have any preexisting health conditions and thinks his choice will not affect others...

Oh sorry...since the 15 people on this board had a thread about it that means it's all good....

Never have i seen those groups being vilified by the media as much as some media talking heads have been doing...which is fine to an extent. This is a pandemic...but the strange thing is i saw some stats that the biggest portion of the population unvaccinated is not white Republicans.

Do i think the people who are proud of not getting the vaccine are idiots for bragging about it like it is an accomplishment? Yes 100%.

But we live in a free country. And i would not want to be forced to inject myself with something i didn't want in my body...and i think it's stupid to only vilify the people who you already dislike for political reasons. It has nothing to do with the shot. It has to do with bashing Republicans at any/every possible chance (and hey, they deserve most of it, so there is that).

Almost 50% of white americans are vaccinated according to the "news" last night. The only higher % of the population is Asians.
