Another Stimulus Check?
Re: Another Stimulus Check?
It’s a nuanced problem with no simple solution, for sure.

Million, Billion......what’s the difference?twocoach wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 2:01 pmThere's an estimated 550,000+ homeless in the US. $600 million works out to a little under $1,100 per person. Not sure what homeless situation you're fixing for $1,100 bucks but it's not permanent.ousdahl wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 11:21 am I see these memes like, it would cost 600 billion or something to just end homelessness in Merica. Or hunger. Or whatever.
And considering how many hundreds of billions each of those assholes is worth, they could single handedly end homelessness with little more than a drop from the bucket of their wealth.
but they don’t.

Re: Another Stimulus Check?
Maybe a silver lining to the pandemic will be that it stimulates wage growth, but it might also just be that employers play chicken with benefits running out, or personal economic concerns finally outweighing health or childcare or other concerns.
Re: Another Stimulus Check?
Here’s another thought I just saw. I haven’t researched or not familiar or whatever but:
What are we gonna do in like 40 years, when a whole generation with limited or no retirement savings opportunities is otherwise expect to retire?

Re: Another Stimulus Check?
I, for one, plan to never retire. Gonna go back to being a fishing guide somewhere, and just work til I drop dead.
Re: Another Stimulus Check?
